The french harpist Solenn Grand is co-principal harpist at the State Opera in Prague.
Previously she worked as principal harpist with the Hofer Symphoniker in Germany and the Brazilian Symphonic Orchestra in Rio de Janeiro.
In Europe, Solenn works as a regular with numerous orchestra including the Opéra National de Paris, the Halle Orchestra, the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra (Norway), the Qatar Philharmonic, and Frankfurt Opern Orchestra amongst others.
In recent years, Solenn has been successful in several harp competitions including First Prize at the North Internationale Competition 2017, the John Marson Prize in 2015, 2nd Prize at 7. VDH-Wettbewerb 2013, 2nd Prize at the Camac North London Harp Competition 2013, 2nd Prize at the 19. Petar Konjovic Competition 2013 and the J-P Morgan Challenge Competition in 2012.
Solenn has been an artist for the charity “Live Music Now!” both in London and Frankfurt, founded by violinist Yehudi Menuhin.
She completed an Artist Diploma at the Royal Academy of Music in London in 2019, and previously graduated in 2015 from the Trinity Laban Conservatoire with a Master of Music, studying with Gabriella Dall’Olio. Previously in 2014 she graduated from the Hochschule für Musik in Frankfurt with a Bmus First Class Honours Degree, studying with Françoise Friedrich. As Erasmus student, she also studied under Imogen Barford in the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London, during which time she received masterclasses in early music from Andrew Lawrence-King. She also has had lessons with Isabelle Moretti, Germaine Lorenzini, Fabrice Pierre, Sarah Verrue and Marie-Pierre Langlamet amongst others.
Solenn divides her time between Prague and the UK, where she has a second residence in Norfolk.
